BRINGING YOUR ENGINE TO THE EVERGREENS MINIATURE RAILWAY

 

The Evergreens Miniature Railway is happy to welcome any and all locomotives to run on our Open Days.

 

We have a 7¼ inch gauge ground level railway and a 5 inch gauge raised railway.

Please contact us if you plan to attend.

 

7 1/4 INCH GAUGE

Unloading facilities consist of a removable ramp from the end of the traverser in the steaming bays.

On an open day visiting engines will be expected to pull passengers.

Any Steam Engines must have a current boiler certificate and all drivers must have suitable insurance. Both need to be available for inspection before you may start running.

 

All water stand pipes are fed with rain water.

 

Full explanation of the local running rules will be given before and during a lap of the track.

 

Our coaches are fitted with onboard air brakes and we recommend you have a small clamp with you to attach the brake switch.

 

All trains must be fitted with Safety Chains.

5 INCH GAUGE

 

The 5 inch gauge unloading facilities consist of a Hydraulic loco lift. Assistance will be given if needed.

 

As with the 7¼ visiting engines, you are expected to pull passengers.

Any Steam Engines must have a current boiler certificate and all drivers must have suitable insurance Both need to be avalable for inspection before you may start running.

 

Rain water is available at the steaming bay and station.

 

All diesel/electric outline locomotives are also welcome.
