BRINGING YOUR ENGINE TO EVERGREENS MINIATURE RAILWAY

Evergreens Miniature Railway is happy to welcome any

and all locomotives to run on our Open Days be they steam, battery/electric or petrol powered.

We have a 7¼ inch gauge ground level railway and a 5 inch gauge raised railway, and a Gauge 1 / garden railway.

7 1/4 INCH GAUGE

Please note: On an open day visiting engines will be expected to pull passengers.

 

It is a steel track on wooden sleepers

The unloading facilities consist of a removable ramp from the end of a traverser, this leads to steaming bays/preparation area.

 

Any Steam Engines must have a current boiler certificate and all drivers must have suitable insurance. Both need to be available for inspection before you may start running.

All water stand pipes are fed with rain water. 

Full explanation of the clubs running rules will be given before and during a lap of the track.

Our coaches are fitted with onboard air brakes and we recommend you have a small clamp with you to attach the brake switch.

All trains must be fitted with Safety Chains.

5 INCH GAUGE

Please note: As with the 7¼ visiting engines, you are expected to pull passengers.

The unloading facilities consist of a removable ramp from the end of a traverser, this leads to steaming bays/preparation area. From there a second traverser gets engines onto the track.

 

Any Steam Engines must have a current boiler certificate and all drivers must have suitable insurance Both need to be available for inspection before you may start running.

Rain water is available at the steaming bay and station.

Not just steam, battery/electric and petrol powered locomotives are most welcome.
